10 Porcelain Veneers
This patient had a gummy smile and enamel defect on her two front teeth. She also wanted to buildup the teeth on right side to be more visible.
Treatment for Enamel Defect
The erosion damage on the patient’s two front teeth created a rough and uneven appearance. Damaged enamel makes your teeth susceptible to sensitivity, chipping and decay. If the damaged enamel isn’t treated, the teeth will gradually worsen. Since enamel doesn’t regrow, we look to dental treatments to repair the teeth. We recommended very minimal prep porcelain veneers for this patient.
Treatment for Gummy Smile
This patient didn’t like her gummy smile. Some of her teeth were a little small and the teeth on her right were slanted. To help correct this, we recommended gum contouring and porcelain veneers. By contouring the gums, we were able to slightly raise her gum line and create the space needed to add porcelain veneers. This combination of gum contouring and adding veneers proportional to her smile, reduced the gumminess in her smile.
